I’ve been trying to cut down the number of subscriptions I have to various things, especially to periodicals that I’m finding I have little time (or patience) for. It’s not as easy as it sounds, unfortunately, and I am sitting here with some anxiety over the cents that fly by every second.

10.23pm: The new lesson I’ve learned — do not do auto-renew. You don’t know what’s going to happen a year later. By that time, you might not even want this periodical any more. Keep the manual renewal as a forced check of whether it is still worth spending that money.

11:07pm: A new blogging method — a daily post that is updated through the day with thoughts and reflections and links and whatnot. I say new”, but it’s actually a hat tip to Dave Winer.
